The Egg That Hatched

Tomei Primary School introduced us to the concept of shared story writing across the world. Mr Yamamoto (vice principal of Tomei) visited our school and showed the children an egg. He asked them to imagine what would hatch out of the egg and the resulting story that might occur.

Ballyclare Primary School then wrote and illustrated the first page of the story based on this idea. The stories were transported to Japan where Tomei pupils added the second page. The books travelled backwards and forwards across the world until 5 pages were completed. The children of both schools are thrilled with the end results. It was fascinating to witness the shared imagination between our two countries. You can view and listen to some of the stories below. We are sure you will agree, they are impressive!
